One of the Computer Laptop manufacturing giant, the Acer entered the mobile phone manufacturing sector. Recently Acer has unveiled Acer M900, F900, X960 and DX900 smart phones, working on Microsoft Windows 6.1.
The Acer M900 has been ideally fabricated for the users who need uninterrupted access to e-mail and files. Three of them utilize a new interface, called Acer Shell, made by the company itself. It is a high-end, business oriented phone, that sports QWERTY keyboard, a 5 mega pixel camera, 3.8 inch display as normally seen on smart phones. It also includes functions that's rare on smart phones "fingerprint reader protection". This can be seen below the display terminal.
Design:
This comes under heavyweight category. It is not that mush comfortable in your pockets. The screen size 3.8 inches, makes it looks bigger. The keyboard buttons are large enough to type.
Camera:
The camera is really convincing. All the icons are large enough to press. It takes 4 econds to start. The Acer M900 delivers high quality pictures with different modes/settings, like Outdooe, Indoor, Strong light, Medium light, Low light, and Document captures.
Multimedia:
The Windows Media Player is apt for Acer M900. It can handle MP4/h.264 format with a better resolution of 720 pixels. A good quality of sound is coming out from loud speaker.
Performance:
The performance of Acer M900 is good. Voice clarity is good with built-in ear piece. The stability and speed is ok. The only grip is the accelerometer. Turning the phone to the landscape position is annoying.
The Plus:
- Huge Display: 3.8-inches
- HSDPA Connectivity
- SiRF Star III GPS
- Finger Print Senser
The Minus:
- Clunky Interface
- Heavy
- Poor build quality
- Poor keyboard
- Poor Battery life
- No dedicated audio port
The Verdict:
Though Acer M900 possess high-end features and sensors, it FAILS in key areas when compared to other smart phones like HTC, Samsung and iPhone.
